Downton Valentines

Oh, I tried to resist this, really I did!

But the Downton Valentines by Chad Thomas deserve a grand nod,  because they are so cute, and dare I say cheeky!

Q: Are we to be friends, then?

A: We are allies, which can be a good deal more effective.

I do adore it, but we must admit, my dears, it's becoming perhaps just a tad sudsy, and one mustn't take up with such base pastimes without pausing occasionally to view them from the hindquarters.  Er--do forgive me but what are we to expect next?  An ABC miniseries seems raather eminent.  How many more ascensions and falls from grace must we all enduure from the stiff-upper-lipped Mr. Bates?  I love a tight rickety roller coaster as much as the next lady, but the bolts are popping from that one.  And the former future-heir burned veteran with amnesia?  Crisis averted, at least for the time being.  But who amongst us can go a single day without the vision of Matthew's faint but fleeting expression of wonder mixed with hope as he admitted to feeling a...well, just what was that he felt, actually?  Some physical sensation below the beltline?

At Sayre House, even as we enjoy this diversion so very much indeed, by turns we enjoy sneaking down the back stairs to hear what the other half has to say about the future of Downton Abbey.  It's a parlour game of sorts that keeps us in high humor.

So, what are the predictions down in your kitchen?
